ACL Rehabilitation: A Comprehensive Guide

Rehabilitation following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury presents a significant challenge as this condition can have multiple impacts.

Firstly, the duration of rehabilitation is a challenge in itself. Such an injury can also put an end to our favorite sports activities and may even end a career requiring a higher level of performance.

Secondly, the longer-term consequences are also significant, such as early osteoarthritis, a change to a more sedentary lifestyle, or a higher risk of another injury.

Despite the high number of studies on the subject, there is no consensus on optimal rehabilitation or the tests to be performed to facilitate a return to activities with minimal risk. Different rehabilitation protocols abound, as do exercise programs.

So how do you navigate this jumble of information?

Based on theoretical concepts and a good dose of experience, this training sheds light on our knowledge of the subject, shares our practices, and conceptualizes an approach to provide adapted and individualized care until the return to activities.activités.
