Eligibility
Offered to physiotherapists and physiotherapy technologists.
Prerequisites
You must have completed the online training (theoretical part) before your in-person training. When you register for this training, you will receive a confirmation email two weeks before the date of your in-person training, which will allow you to view the first part of your training.
A theoretical part on the latest scientific evidence on the use of functional electrical stimulation and the different parameters to be used.
This part is done online at your own pace and includes demonstration videos and testimonials.
An in-person clinical practice part including:
A review of the parameters to use.
A period of clinical practice with different electrical stimulation devices to become familiar.
A practice period with individuals with different conditions.
A period of clinical reasoning with case histories.
Main Objective
Use functional electrical stimulation efficiently to achieve different treatment objectives depending on your patient's condition.
Specific Objectives
Know the different benefits of using electrical stimulation.
Understand the different parameters to use and how to modify them according to the different objectives.
Determine the relevance of using electrical stimulation for a patient and incorporate it into conventional rehabilitation interventions.
Apply and master functional electrical stimulation for different treatment objectives.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows access to all four limbs for electrode placement..
This training is offered in French.
